THE CELEBRATION 2008

The Tennessee Walking Horse National Celebration takes place each year during the 11 days and nights prior to Labor Day. This year's dates were August 20 through August 30. It is the premier event for the Tennessee Walking Horse, during which the breed's World Grand Champion and some 20 World Champions are named.

The Celebration is held on 105 acres in Shelbyville, Tennessee. There are 63 barns, 1,650 stalls and an outdoor stadium that seats approximately 30,000 people. There is also a covered warm-up ring (called Champions Arena), a 4,400 seat indoor arena for horse shows and a very well-maintained facility.
